Compressor in a systainer

If the senco compressor is £130 does that make the systainer £170?
What's so special or different

the red systainer and foam are 60. its the white paint for the senco label thats 110

That's what I was thinking .
I remember a post where someone just cut off the handle and put if in the systainer

I have a bostich 16 gauge with the battery and fuel cell. I rarely touch my compressor any more.

And... My gun will fit in a sys-2.  ;)

Good morning

I have them on order now, and hopefully one should arrive tomorrow in time for Saturday's Festool Morning. Poppers Senco only had one I could have, the rest of my order should be with me 'soon'. They should be available either 110v or 240v. The first one we are getting is 240v.

Pricing will not be £299 + VAT, yet to confirm, but a lot less.

Best regards

Warren

Thanks to Warren and Tom from Festool for putting on yet another great toolfest morning. We got to see and play with all the new festool tools. Found out that the new midi vac has an improved hose. It actually gets bigger in diameter as it gets nearer the vac. This is supposed to increase suction.

I got to take a look at the new senco compressor in a systainer that Warren mentioned above. Its slightly noisier than the stand alone 1010 but still pretty good compared to my noisy bostitch.

It does look like they've literally cut the frame off the 1010 and bunged it in a systainer. There's no external connectors , you have to open the lid and keep it open while in use. I'm guessing you could put notches in the lid so you could close the lid.

What about Prebena Aerotainer 245 ? Anyone seen this or even uses this one ?

The lower sys is just additional air tank connected to compressor in upper sys.

I know it's not a T-loc but it's in sys.  [embarassed]

Good Morning

I did sell one of the Prebena versions, and I think they are still available. My impression was good, well made with power and air fittings accessible from outside the box. But, very noisy when used on a hard floor. I'm sure it could be reduced though.

Best regards

Warren

I have a small Craftsman 1 gal compressor, and decided to try to fit it in a SYS-V.  It already gets transported in the SYS, so I thought I'd make it more permanent so I could stop taking it out of the box.

I had to cut off the roll cage, and mount the compressor on risers so it could sort of wrap up and around the tank.  I reused the threaded holes from the feet to bolt the tank to the plywood base.  I mounted the rubber feet from the compressor frame to the bottom of the plywood insert, and it all fit!

Then, I discovered that it would actually fit in a SYS-IV.  Unfortunately, I had already drilled the holes for the hose and the drain in the SYS-V, but I moved it into a IV anyway.  The pic shows it in a SYS-IV with the MFT top.  I moved the MFT top to a different SYS, my Hand Tools box, which is coming along nicely.

@ jimmylittle ..... Looks really good so far. Couldn't ask for a better fit and I also like how you reused rubber feet. Keep shooting pics of progress. How you gonna run drain line?

Good idea with the lid. I just got my first sys v (with cleaning kit) might do the same and swap the lid with my sys mft

Quick Update on my Systainer-Compressor...

I ended up moving the rig back into a SYS-V.  Two reasons -

1.  I had already drilled the holes in the V for the hose and drain, and I didn't want to drill out a SYS-IV.

2.  The extra 3" in the SYS-V allows me to build a tray on top of the compressor so I can take a short hose and brad gun in one SYS if I need to.

What's the model number on that compressor. I usually have a rule not to buy anything from Sears that has a cord on it, but if you like it perhaps I will reconsider.

Not sure of the model number, and I wouldn't recommend it at all.  It works fine, but seems to cycle too often and is pretty noisy.  I only used it because it was sitting around the shop.

Go with the Senco.  Whenever this Craftsman burns out (which it will, I'm sure...) I'll swap in my Senco.

Hi guys,

Just noticed this little guy here:

Did you add any additional noise reduction foam ? If yes, what type ?

Many thanks

I used a sortainer/systainer combo.Works great. MFT top and a power port plug.
