Anyone here make a box for their compressor or vacuum to reduce the sound? I'd like to make one for my compressor and vacuum. I have a few ideas, but thought I'd ask the group. Thanks.

Here’s what I built:

It’s not perfect but it takes the edge off the noise. I don’t use it every day so it might not be suitable for more active usage

We had a small compressor, we made a case for it, which helped deaden the sound but, it used to get hotter as a consequence.
So we added more ventilation, which then made it noisier.

We have one now that came  fitted into a systainer, I think it’s a Senco or similar?

I'm a hobbyist woodworker.

I made just a box with enough ventilation out of 1/4" ply.

We can have a conversation while it's on.

But really its on maybe 5 mins when I first turn it on.
Then 1 or 2 mins every few hours.

Unless I'm really using it a lot.
Then it's another 5 mins max usually.

I made another for a shop vac out of 3/4" ply and stuffed the sound reducing foam around it.
And put it up in the rafters.
I don't like it on without hearing protection.
It's only on while the table saw or the mitre saw are in use.
