Hi!
I got meself a small Paslode compressor, but i don't know a thing about compressors.
Could you give me some 'does and don'ts' regarding this machinery?

Always make sure you drain it after you've finished using it everyday.

Besides draining the tank, turn the pressure regulator down to unload the spring inside of it. Also, occasionally check your air inlet filter.

Other than that, get a long hose and put it far away from where you are working so that it can annoy someone else.  [unsure]

Get some teflon tape to help reduce air escaping through the fittings.  If your shop is always the same temperature this might not be much of an issue, but metal expands or contracts so fittings might not be as snug from one season to the next.

How did you know I have a 100ft hose?  [tongue]

I don't often work around many other people, so running the hose from the basement is fine. If it is ever an issue, I can usually go out a window and run it up the side of the house and back in a window. Besides the noise (I hate the noise even though I wear hearing protection when using a nail gun) the basement is usually convenient because it is often near the electric panel and I can be sure it is plugged into a circuit that won't be tuned off. Lastly, it makes clean up easier because I just have to coil the hose back to the compressor and not have to move it.

Yea the noise of loud compressors kills me. Thats why I went with a California Air Tools. They hardly make any noise at all.

I usually depressurize the tank, but let the compressor run for a minute or so to help blow out any remaining water.  Good idea about turning down the pressure dial.

2 years ago I picked up that upright DeWalt compressor (20gal?) from HD.
It was semi-quiet at first but now.... I'd like to roll it to the street.

They are. Its not a gimmick. That and being light is their whole marketing angle. Check out the Amazon reviews.

I had the same Dewalt and it was NOISY! It blew a seal I think so I just got rid of it and got the California air tools and it is night and day! It also has 2 tool connections so another plus.
