Looking on nuts and bolts for the battery carvex 420, I can see the obvious differences I.e 14.4volt 18 volt bow and barrel handles but there seems to be same models with different prices.
Can anyone shed any light on the differences between the machines (only want the 18v version) and are they any good, especially with 1 battery?

Thanks ???

On the USA Festool site there are 2 cordless (battery) models and both are $550. There are 2 corded models and both are $350. The battery models are both 18volt. Your UK Festool site may differ.

I bought the full accessory kit and a bunch of extra blades. I've found the accessory kits to be a good buy on all my Festool products. I bought the C-Handle model and really like how it handles.

Regarding 1 battery, it depends on your usage. I bought an extra battery, but have never used up the charge on one battery. I am not a professional woodworker so my demands on a battery are not high.

I can see the set versions but there are still a few different options  in each voltage.

Hi,

I was just looking at the Carvex on the Festool UK site.  When I click the drop down for a particular version the little list in the description changes to show the included items. It appears to me that the Nuts and Bolts site doesn't show the complete description of included items for each version.  But I may just be missing it. So you might need to compare with the Festool UK site to find out what is in each version.

it is nice to have battery powered, but what you will do after a battery collapse and Festool change the battery. It happens all the time. You anyway cannot run it without the line. If you use it in shop plug or extension cable is there. Are you it outside all the time where no plug is available?
Corded will last longer then Festool and you too.
Battery + charger are much more larger and heavier than one cable. Spare the spece in the systainer for some other things..
Jigsaw always requres addition work due to un-accurate angle (blade bends and it is not depend of blade or manufacturer) of the cut and cut quality too. They are nearly never final cut. This is why i did not invest a lot in such machine. My old Bosch is good enough..
Festool runs on 18 V and 14 V too (if you have, and you have to have and different charger for 14 V - my assumption only)
I had an idea to get somehow adapter for 110/18V (like one for walkman style) and make it conected to the Carvex after battery go to the ..
Just my study before i canceled my order on it.

What are your reasons for the battery one, Might be I can change my opinion.

I've been using an 18v carvex now for well over a year and I can't recommend them enough. My corded 300 has not been used once since I bought it. I would suggest 2 batteries if it's for continual work and not one off bits.

You can use a jigsaw for finish work if you are skilled enough and the battery carvex is a perfect choice that you won't be disappointed by.

I think the different prices would be battery related.

Edit

Just had a look and it is very confusing. I would call them and chat about it. The guys at Powertool-supplies are great and they would sort it out for you in no time.
