Contour sanding

Refinishing some furniture and there must be a solution for all this contour sanding. Any help is appreciated!

I've been sanding some dining chairs with a DTS400 and 2 protection pads to soften the sanding pad and allow the paper to deform a little.  It's done a good job on non-flat surfaces.

Would the LS 130 help - that's what its made for. I think they've stopped making them but my local vendor has 4 still and I suspect many others might as well.

You didn't say which sander you were using, but Festool makes Interface Sander Backing Pads that help abrasives be more likely to work right on uneven surfaces.  [smile]
