How much longer does the edgebanding need to be for consistent glue coverage?  The manual states 10mm, but my Conturo stops applying glue about 20mm from the end.  I called tech support and they recommend 4-6 inches!!  That seems like alot of waste when you're doing many 36" panel edges, say.  I was told there was no way to retard the sensor and I was curious what others have experienced as to how much longer others are making theirs.  In this case I'm using fairly stiff 1.5mm wood banding.  The machine is handling it fine, except no glue on that last 20mm, so far, regardless of length.

I've never used wood in mine but with pic & laminate I've found 2.5" works well. I did make 1.5" work one time but it was not fun...

I don't have the manual next to my but like i remenber it say's the edgebanding must be 100mm longer than the workpiece, not 10mm.
if you get more and more confident with the conturo you can get the extra length shorter, i think my conturo leaves no glue about 20mm from the edge.

Thanks everyone.  I had read 10mm without my reading glasses on, but it really was 10cm, and since I'm used to thinking and working in mm I made a bade assumption as to what I saw and read.  I have since settled on 2", roughly half of the manual's suggestion and it has worked out well.
Cheers.
