Conturo Tracks Too High

I am edging oak plywood with 13/16" oak (0.024" thick). I would like to get overhang on the top and the bottom face of the plywood, but I am only getting overhang on the top. Sometimes the edging does not completely cover at the bottom. Is there a way to adjust the Conturo so that it tracks lower on the edge of the plywood?

I don't have the Conturo but went to YouTube to look at the Festool produced getting started video.  What is the width of the edge banding you are using?

Here is the video link:

Around the 2:00 Minute mark there is a recommendation of edge banding size versus workpiece.  If you are trying to edge band 3/4" plywood with 13/16" material, it may not be wide enough.

It could be one of two things going on here.

1:  Like Peter said, 13/16 banding is too narrow for 3/4 inch material (assuming that's what you're using).  We always run 15/16" banding.  The stuff from veneersupplies.com is good

2:  If you're running the conturo in the mft, be sure to use the standoff strips to raise the workpiece and help center the banding (this would apply more if you're using 1/2" material and it's still not covering).

Thanks for your source for the edge banding. I have been using Woodcraft's 500' 13/16" rolls. Veneersupplies.com carries what I need so I will pick some of that up. I have been turning 100mm wide plywood with banded edges for door and window casing and it has been alright for that because the bottom is against the wall. I want to do some face frameless cabinets now though and it won't be acceptable for that.

Glad to help!!

It would be great to see some pictures of your finished projects if you don't mind sharing them on here.

I use 7/8” edge banding from Holdahl and it works very well with the Conturo. I initially tried 15/16” banding but the trim router struggled with tear out. Very happy with 7/8” edge banding, and LOVE the Conturo!
