Converting a 110v CMS basic into a 240v CMS basic (UK)

Hi, I've seen a 110v CMS basic unit for sale in the UK. Can I purchase a new switch to convert it to 240v? If so, do you know the part number I would need?

Guy FYI, the connections are different for the UK and USA. the voltage may be correct but you'll have to change the connections. No biggie go to Home Depot (USA) or B&Q (UK) and they have the replacement connectors

I am just converting my 110v cms to 240v, I would really like to see a bigger photo of the wiring connections showing which wires on the plug socket, connect to which tags on that contactor, and which connect to the outlet socket.  Also if you still need a 110v contactor I would be happy to ship to the usa, or anywhere in the world.

I’m struggling with the same. The switches seems just the same, apparently the spool might consist of thicker wires (as so it looks).

I’m going to ask a local electrician about cross compatibility. There are obviously different series within the same voltage. Some (old) with just flat connectors, the newer has a circuit board and screw connectors.
(I’ll need to find a photo of the wiring later)

There difference between the two contactors is to do with the electromagnetic coil which holds the switch in the on position until you either press stop or the power fails.  The coil the the 110v switch presumably has a lower resistance to run of 110v supply.  As far as I can tell the switching contacts are exactly the same.  It might actually be possible to put a resistor in line with the coil on the 110v contactor to make it work on 240v but i’m not planning to try that.

What I wanted to see was the wire up for the spade connector style, because from the photo posted earlier that appears to be different to he newer circuit board design where the load appears to have been spread across all the switch contacts.  I have a spade connector type contactor on order.

Just buy a new switch. I converted a CMS from UK 240-110 US no problems.

Nahh.. I need two.. in series  [big grin]

To be fair, it’s one of my purchases I did from a fellow Festool fan; he did exchange the whole switch assembly, so I bought the carcass (including internals) Just to change the switch to convert it to 220V and use it on the MFT/3 and a second one on a another table which I’m working on (slowly..) to accept CMS modules in - work in progress. Posting when ready [wink]
And I like to have NVR switches wherever possible.
I have a ton of other framing, carpentry and finishing tasks to do, but small conversion and modifying projects are fun to divert to from time to time. Those “nice to do” ones  [big grin]

Replacing the whole module is expensive and wasteful, only the contactor needs to be replaced, the issue is confused as on ekat the 110v contactor has the same order number as the 240v one which obviously doesn’t make sense.

I'm looking at moving to Japan, and all of my items are 110V.

Am I reading right that I just need to change this switch module to 100V have all of these run at full power when I'm there?

I don't think it's quite that straightforward.  This thread is referring ONLY to the CMS table, which has a mains switch that controls power to a tool such as a router or saw that is mounted in the table.

I don't know what power system Japan uses to be able to guide you on that.
