I don't usually post my work but am very pleased with the way this mirror turned out.

It measures 36" Tall by 23" Wide.

Sanding was a challenge with all the crazy grain and the Turquoise inlays but the Festool Rotex-150 and RO-150/3 were up to the job.

I used the Trion jigsaw to cut the mirror opening and the 1400 router for the mirror opening profile and rabbets (3/16" mirror and 1/4" back).

The finish is multiple coats of gloss lacquer topped with one coat of satin.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

that's a great piece in some beautiful material.
i was going to suggest that the mirror edge curve in the upper left seems to lose some of its smoothness, but i'm thinking now that's it's just an optical illusion since there are darker spots in the surrounding burl there.
great job taming the wild wood !

Oh, that looks great!  I like the unusual shape of the mirror - it really suits the shape of the burl.

Good eye!  That's more of an issue with my Photoshop skills.  I had to replace the mirror image to remove my reflection from where I was photographing it.  There is some shadow from the lighting but my mouse did not move as deftly as it could have when making the selection.

It's a smooth curve in real life!

Joe, that is a beautiful job!  Thank you for sharing and looking for more future shares.  Bill
