Cord storage for vacuum

i have the CT 48 with boom arm and work center so i had to remove the cord storage and i now coil the cord up and have a Velcro strap attached to the CT Handle that stays there permanently and i just Velcro the cord coil to the handle its very convenient

Ok I ordered the storage piece and it finally showed up yesterday. However there are no screws to attach it with. What size screws do I need to use?

So happy I did this mod.  I have a CT Mini w/ a UDD and cord storage has always been a problem.  This was a straight bolt on but you need to modify the curve of the cord holder.  It looks like some guys just bolt it on with a gap between, others make a wooden spacer.  I used a wing divider and scribed the contour onto the cord holder.  A couple cuts on the band saw and a clean up with a hand file and the fit is perfect.

With the CT Midi the placement of the cord holder is high enough to not interfere with anything on the vac.  On the mini you're going to have to cut/file away the corner to allow room for the power cord to exit the body of the machine.

Highly recommend this upgrade to all Mini/MIDI users.

My Midi is an older model - no holes.
How are you guys attaching this cord holder? Just using screws into the plastic case? Bolting it into the dust cavity?

The newer models have 2 holes already there.  I took the vacuum apart to see where those holes went and if there was any risk of damage if I used too long of a screw.  If you don't have pre-existing holes I suggest you do the same, just to be on the safe side.  You want to bolt it to the upper half of the vac.
