When  will  Mafell  build  this  machine?
The  current  corded  version seems  prehistoric.

What is prehistoric about it?

I had a Skil D handle for years... that was prehistoric.

Then I upgraded to a corded Carvex D... Then I thought cordless and barrel would be better.  Enter Carvex PSC 420.

I just recently purchased the P1CC... blown away!

Dust collection is amazing - can actually see my line.  Integrates with track and comes with very useful accessories.  Splinter guard works really well.  Blade doesn't get hot and bend.  Ergonomics are great.  Switch is actually in a good/safe location unlike the Carvex.  Oh yeah, it has a cord... I don't even notice the cord - especially since I actually use dust collection with a jigsaw now.

I was on a push to get as many cordless tools as I could.  Then I realized how much time I spend swapping batteries and emptying bags with the TSC and how a cord isn't a big deal if you have a dust hose anyway.
Enter MT55 and P1CC... couldn't be happier now.
And I decided to keep my corded Fein MM - even though I bitch about winding the cord to put it back in the systainer.

I definitely had the 'grass is greener' mentality about corded vs cordless.  I've learned the expensive way that cordless is great for certain things but not every tool needs a battery.

If you consider the best jigsaw available anywhere (by a wide margin) to be "prehistoric", then I'd suggest that you aren't really Mafell's type of customer, & respectfully suggest that you look elsewhere if you're seeking gimmickry over performance.

Apart from winning an ID design award for its "inferior" performance, it has almost universal acclaim from users, at least those with whom I've had contact.

The only criticism that I can legitimately level @ the Mafell P1 CC is that some other (non-Festool) German-made brands seem to perform better in thicker (say 5-10mm) plate steel.  In every other way, and in every use that I've applied my Mafell Jigsaw to, it's just a better mousetrap.

Mafell's range generally seems to be more specifically targeted at professional users rather than the DIY market.  Ergo, they tend to be more performance-oriented & rather light-on for gewgaws & farckles.

i have to agree the corded is the prehistoric part.
obvious portability advantages; the brushless DC motors do offer as well: more start torque, speed control, instant stop, quick start

they came out with that cuprex motor in 2006 - everyone and their dog is moving or moved to cordless: bosh fein hilti. these aren't exactly consumer brands either.

maffell has a cordless saw and plunge saw, and a battery system so i think they are just milking it now

+1 @ jarbroen totally agree. Nothing comes close.
The only gripe i have about the P1CC is it would have been nice if they had an led. MT55 is also a wonderful tool.

I switched the inlay for my supercut to a systainer 2, cable frustration gone instantly.

The P1CC is top dog in jig saw dept, no question.
The only gripe I hear from owners of them, is the lack of LED.
A cordless version would be welcomed by many, including me. I’m sure it will happen, it’s just Mafell do things at their pace, they always have.

But then it would not be in an orange systainer... lol

On the LED - I actually didn't even  think about the P1CC not having an LED.  The Carvex had an LED, but I can see my cut line way better with the P1CC.

I  look  forward  to  Mafell  making  a cordless  version  as  my  metabo batteries  should  fit.

Is it  possible  that  the  P1cc  keeps  the  blade  lower  in  the  cut  when  the machine  is  on  full upstroke?

I ask  this  because  I have  some  130mm metal cutting  metabo blades. 110mm  of  cutting teeth.
When I  cut  80mm  composite  panel,  on the full upstroke  of  my Festool Trion  the blade  rises  above  the  low  side.
Which  makes  cutting  impossible. The  machine  just  jumps  out  damaging  the low  side.
About  75mm of blade  is  available  on the full  upstroke.

On  our last job  we  cut  at  least  100m  of  composite  panel. Cutting  one  side  first, then  turning the panel  over  to cut the other  side.
Using a  combination  of  Bosch  and  Metabo  cordless  jig saws.
Now  have  another  job  with at least  100m  to be  cut.
And  don't  mind  dragging  a lead  if it  works.

When  my  trion  is  on  full  down stroke, I notice  that  10mm  of the blade  is  still available.
All  I need  is  a 10mm  lower  machine.
The  blades  I'm using  are Metabo  Best- Nr 6.23978

I know some  will say  just  purchase  a  longer blade.
But I'm  thinking  if the Mafell achieves  what  I  outlined  above  it  would be  a  better  option.
And  a game  changer
Plus  a  more  accurate  cut  should be possible.

Ideally  I  would  take  my  composite  panel  to  someone  who owns  a P1cc  and  try it  out.

I got myself this one: link (And I use the sys 1 version to store the sharpening stuff for the sawblades.)

If you plan on buying locally, you could also take a piece of the material and a sawblade to the toolstore.

I read a jigsawreview from a Dutch toolstore, that says that the mafell sits 10 to 12 mm lower, because of the lack of the lower guides, and I searched for the stroke length of the trion, which another review says it's 26 mm (the mafell has 25 mm stroke) so it might just work.

Have  just  joined  the P1cc  club.
Awaiting  arrival  to my local  store. [big grin]
I will  let  all know  what  I think  of this  machine  next week.

Welcome to the club! You will soon question how you managed without it so far  [laughing]

I own the P1 cc and it’s a thing of beauty. There are so many things on that jiggy that make you smile.

However, the biggest bonehead move on Mafell’s part was to not incorporate LED’s into the body of the saw. The dust collection is stellar while the blade guidance is beyond reproach.

No more of those stupid blade guides which just prematurely burn up blades and flex when cutting a radius.

I love the P1 cc but Mafell should have stretched that little bit more and then it would have been a slam-dunk.

I would not say it was a bonehead move or lack of a stretch by Mafell. They are much smaller company than Festool with a proportionally smaller engineering staff. Their goal is to design a tool with the goal of it lasting as long as possible without requiring a redesign. Up until a few years ago no power tools had LED's and Mafell probably was not willing to gamble on them.

I do agree it would be nice to have one and at some point it will just probably not anytime soon. Too many pluses to worry about a missing LED.

LED’s on my tools that have them are one of my favorite features to turn off or put black tape over.

Yes - the P1CC is great. I agree that it was released when LED lights were still primarily on drills only. I do not think it is a big deal on the jigsaw - I turn them off on my other saws for most cuts as I do not think it aids the cut that much anyway.

I am not new to Mafell, and I am indeed their customer.
A cordless P1CC would be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
