304 pounds of it for the pub height top.

Due to the staircase, the bottom had to be a finished surface.

Looks positively futuristic, quite edge serious and dark, will sure need som friendly faced users to warm it up then..

Perfectly executed.

Tom,

Looks great!  Top notch work!

How did you attach it since the bottom is so visible?

Thanks for sharing!

Sil-A-Bond and screws through the stretchers that connect to angled arms. The steel fabricator punched holes in the stainless steel for the screws.

Fantastic.  That must have been fun transporting to the installation site.

Looks good. A nice diversion from all the finishing I bet. Did you design and fabricate?

Fabricated and installed (with a lot of assistance). Designed by Ed Michnick (he posts here once in awhile)

Something that needs to be considered when designing is all points of view.

Definitely, but sometimes only evident once the item is in the space. I have had many instance of designs that needed adjustments or additions to builds because of unimagined or unseen vantage points.

I've done the same. Not sure anyone is immune from the occasional forehead slap. [doh]

Looks awesome, but with all those stools I just see broken toes (yes, I walk like a duck).

Since you have a strong steel base, would have been cool to use some of those swing out bar stools with no base on them!

I'm not sure the Corian would handle the pullout force of the chairs hanging on it.
