Could this be used to earth your dust deputy?

I have my DD on top of my CT36 and I just ran an insulated multistrand copper wire from the DD input where it is jammed between the hose and input thru to the metal collector bin and then on to the CT36 earth. Works real fine unless you lose the wire when changing hoses.

Oneida Air Systems provides free of charge a kit to ground your older Dust Deputies and the newer models come with Static Discharge Insensitive components.

Oneida upgraded my Ultimate Dust Deputy and I have no issues with my CT22, contact Oneida if you have one of the older models that have great customer relations.

Not in Australia - the local supplier didn't know what I was talking about.

For the price it would be worth a try or maybe try a local electronics supply for the same type of thing.  But I have also used the stranded wire grounded on the collector then taped to the DD and the hose after getting a few jolts, this works great also but I only have to remove the hose when emptying the DD

Don't have a photo do you mate?

Major milestone - my first picture post

The DD is mounted on one 20 ltr drum which is inserted into a second drum that is screwed to a piece of 3/4" ply that has been notched to fit the top of the CT.

The electrical earth is run from the input of the DD, clamped under the lid clamp of the drum and then to a piggy-back double adaptor plug on the CT.

The piping is 2" pressure PVC with pipe to female thread adaptors that have been slightly tapered to fit the DD and CT. the piping is not glued to enable disassembly if needed or while emptying.

The handles on the drums make a good pull along handle for the system.

Thanks for this.  I've only realised this was a problem (especially with the ultimate dust deputy's) since I've been reading this forum.

Cheers

Here is a picture of my UDD on my CT22 after the Oneida upgrade kit was installed, show this to your supplier.
