Coulumbus Ohio Woodworking Show

Actually, what I "coveted" most in the Woodwerks store were the bubinga boards.  For the price of 3  boards about 3/4-7/8" thick x 12"W x 6-7 ft long, you could buy one of many different Festools.  Overall, I thought Woodwerks had a nice selection of hardwood lumber for furniture projects.  I had never seen red elm before and thought it very attractive, and noticeably different in appearance compared to the American elm stocked next to it.

Yeah...Woodwerks is special...check out the video on their site with Mark Spagnoulo (sp?) Wood Whisperer.  They have been working on building a web site community...it looks like it will bloom.  Also have a classified place.

Wayne, I would politely ask that you go on a diet...especially with my bad back.  I'm werkin on Amy on the 5000.

Tom.....Fein....ummwah wah wah...as Tim would say...I will say that tool would be cool....in my shop!  I too have outfitted my shop from Woodwerks...In fact...funny short story...  I started into this "whole thing" when I wanted to remodel...I said... self...you can do this all by yourself.  So I went to Lowes. I picked up a Dewalt 746 and 718 chop saw I believe.  I started looking for a router for the extension table and came upon Bench Dog which was being sold at WW.....sooo..I went to WW to get it.  When I walked through the doors...looked around...I went straight home and returned what I had to Lowes...  It has been on ever since.  Amazing store.  Anyway..let me know when you are heading over there on a Saturday morning and I will meet you there.

Charm...fellas..let me know when you are headed there as well.  I have never been there.

Had a good time at the show today.  Girls made more pens...I think there are monsters in the making.  We didn't stay long and the most of my time was spent talking to Lewis Stepp of the Craftsman Gallery.  If you have never had opportunity to talk to Lewis...he is a great guy.  He has his own product - Router Boss - which is based off of the Woodrat.  There are a mountain of improvements on this product which I really liked.  I have the Woodrat...have hardly used it...but now want this Boss....It is much simpler to use...and much sturdier IMO.

Meeting in Charm sounds like a great idea.  There are many good Amish restaurants nearby, too.  Too bad it is a great distance away from Nick's home; he'd enjoy the large inlay in the floor of the main entrance.  I mean large - script "Keim" in a circle, probably 10 to12 ft across.  Lots of other nice woodwork in that store, too, and a good assortment of ready to go exotic wood lumber pieces, and good assortment of machinery.  They also have 10mm shank, 1/4 inch brad tipped boring bits in stock.
