Hello everyone,
Does anybody knows if there is a cover plate for TS75 to improve dust extraction. When I am squaring an edge on a piece of wood there is a fairly good amount of dust and chips comming out of the right side of my TS75.
If there is no cover plate, does anyone have a trick to prevent this?

you can use a tape to cover holes on right side of saw. Somebody already mention that on forum or tips on Festool site.

When trimming an edge such that one side of the blade is in the air (rather than fully embedded in the wood) there will be a lot of debris thrown away from the blade. Debris collection depends on the blade being enclosed by material on both sides so that the debris is plowed forward and up towards the negative air force in the saw housing. A cover plate won't help in this kind of cutting since it only extends down to near the surface of the wood. You could tape a piece of stiff thin material to the saw housing that extends down far enough to deflect the chips that come off the side of the blade but that is inconvenient, for one thing, you can't set the saw down on it's base.

The best solution is to sacrifice an extra couple millimeters of wood so that both sides of the blade are within wood. Next best is to set a scrap of wood (the same thickness as the stuff you are cutting) next to the edge you are cutting to block the scattering of the debris.

Hi,

Though it doesn't help aficiannado's TS75 problem. The Cover Plate does help to some degree with dust escaping the bottom edge because it extends lower than the saw housing. Much closer to the work piece. You can see close up pics of this in the review under the FOG Tool Reviews catagory.
