its missing loads of useful bits generally most of the uk dealers are selling them off cheaper

you don't get the countersink, d5 euro bit, etc

the older set is much better

Um ... I think they may on that one ... it's an accessory.

I've got things like a Toolie, and Systainer inserts you can't get here from them.

Can't hurt asking.

I made the mistake of pre-ordering one before the details were out, ended up keeping the dill bit set and systainer and selling all the other bits and insert on ebay for the same I paid lucky.

then a local dealer was having a clearance on the older set for a crazy price so got that.  [big grin]

The full (older) set is # 497628  The 2013 reduced feature set is # 499623 (which is the one listed in the ad by the OP)
Still available in Germany, but don't know if it's only stock remaining in stores, or whether it can be ordered. The full set IS listed in the 2013 German Festool price list though, so I am assuming that European dealers can order.  The 499623 is ALSO listed as being available with a base price of 209€ before 19% VAT. The original has a listed base of 374.20€ before VAT.
You can multiply those figures by $1.34 to determine dollar price equivalent.  The price on the British site is 164.99 British Pounds which is the equivalent of $251.00.  So it IS on sale by about $29.00, but the so-called list price on the web page is BS.

I'm picking up mine (the FULL set 497628) on Wednesday along with the Vacu-Clamp system and some other stuff that is not available in North America...all purchased in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Dollar to pound and euro to pound conversions don't really apply on list prices or prices in other country's, we're British we pay over the odds for everything!!  [scared]

It's not just tools, I brought my ms office package from America, I couldn't justify the stupid uk prices.

These sets were on sale at  the recent uk roadshow for the same price , I compared to the set I have and it is way short of
That,  I dont envy you having to fit  your new shop out with festool thats a lot of square feet , talking of feet you may require a one hundred step programme for the green addiction ,  oh fla my favourite part of the globe .

I will check to see if they will ship to Australia.  I enquired last Friday and was unable to source a 2013 set.  If available the price was $550 AU!!
