I've seen mixed reviews on these by users and was wondering what the consensus is?  Are they worth the $ or is their a cheaper/easier way to accomplish the same thing as the Crown Stops?

I think the extensions for the Kapex are a great accessory.  I use them for every cut because of the extra support on each side.

The crown stops are put away in a box somewhere in my shop.

I use a continuous crown stop that I secure in the extensions with knobs and T-bolts.  Works great!

I think that the extensions are better.  The stops are expensive and while they give you the ability to use clamps as hold down with the t-slots, I think that the extensions are more versatile and give more support.  If you make your own extensions, then the stops are perfect for a connection point that mounts in the v-groove and you can use the two holes for bolts to secure the homemade extensions.

The crown stop extensions are nice and the V groove mount is the best of the lot of any V-groove mounts of have seen. I wish it was the one used for the UG extensions.

But the problem with them is that they can't be used with the UG extensions. So if you are cutting crown that is more than about 3' long they are really not useable by themselves.

Thanks for the help.  I read one review that said the Crown Stop extensions were really cheaply made.  Since I have not had a chance to see them in person, I have no way to get first hand experience with them.

I wouldn't consider them cheaply made.

I use them on the MFT as well. They add an upward facing t-slot and a protruding shelf to the edge of the table. It's surprising how often that is handy.

They are fine and work well. They are light so they are easy to carry to the site and hold crown in position for the cut.
Using or making a continuous crown stop offers more support for the cut.
