CS 70 or wait for Festool with sawstop?

I don't see the beauty in that. He should exploit his ingenuity better. Unused potential is such a waste.
This.

But this particular mirock invention would sadly be a no-go in central europe as the tool manufacturers in germany agreed a while ago on it no longer being legal to produce stuff that turns a handheld tool into a stationary one... at least according to a Festool representative in his answer to 'why the CMS has been discontinued'.

The power of DIN, allowing companies to make policy in back rooms since 1918 *sigh*

The Sawstop patents are expiring. Since Gass originally wanted to license the patents and only made a table saw of his own as a last resort, it is not at all surprising he changed his business model.
Nor is it surprising that Festool is one of the first manufacturers to add this capability. Buying business is a clever way to get ahead. it is pretty clear that within five years, this tech is going to be required on every tabe saw by the insurers.
Is Bosch Reaxx available in Europe? After the infringement lawsuit from SawStop they ceased sales in the US, but it is still available in Canada. Bosch technology seems to be as good if not better. Being a European company it seem strange they have not introduced their technology on the home market.
Nope. Not available in Europe - in fact, except for a couple of demonstrations/marketing samples - it was never introduced. Word on the street is Bosch lost "the case" completely and entirely up to the point that machines were destroyed.
Kind regards,
Oliver
Interesting. Canada must be special, eh. Or no one bothered to check they are still selling it. [poke]  [big grin]

I wasn't talking about this video in particular. Mirock has shared lots of things here with us, loads of self made jigs and tools, which might have lots of commercial potential.

As for the CMS discontinued, I heard it was about an EU commision ruling that stationary tools need a magnetic switch so it doesn't automatically and unexpectedly start again after power is lost. If not for that rule, Festool would be happy to keep on selling the CMS.

What I don't understand is that he's still just doing YouTube videos and doesn't have 50 factories producing his designs by now.

That's probably the beauty of the whole thing - They are the only ones that's been made.

Shouldn’t  he do, how he wants....? Who are you to tell him otherwise?  Not everybody is an entrepreneur or needs to make money. Luckily.

His potential is used in different ways. You of course can disagree....

I am just plain, simple Alex. And I am not telling him to do anything, I am encouraging him, and that should be fine, right?

Write whatever you want, (to me) came across a bit judgemental. The "encouraging" part I missed  ;)

Since it's just letters on a screen it is difficult to understand the context in which people say things. I learned long ago not to assume too much.

1. That upgrade to the switch on the CMS would be beyond simple.
2. Dosn't the CMS switch already work that way?

Yes, it does. The problem is, the power tool in the table does not have such a switch. So theoretically the tool could be used without the switch. So another example of EU regulations crippling the people by banning an entire line of tools to protect 0,000000001% from their own stupidity.

And it could easily be rectified with electronic switches. Just as Makita has done with some of their latest, even battery tools. My jigsaw and router have a timer wich shuts the machine of of standby mode. You’ll have to press another start switch to get it going. Same if one xchange battery, repeat start procedure. At once it’s hassle, once you get it it feels safer. I have accidentally started jig saws and other sharp hand held tools before. Festool is presumably right behind.
