Hi guys

If anyone got the Time I've a couple of questions about the CSX .

Is there different models (in my searches they all seem the same) if so which one do you recommend

And I might try and get a deal with a centrotec kit .and am slightly confused as to which kit is best

Although the centrotec kit will probably be more than the drill (shouldn't have bought that cooltainer lol )

Any guidance will be appreciated

There are two versions: Plus and Set.  Plus comes with one battery, and Set comes with two and a right angle drive.

I'd go for the Set, it's worth the extra.

I hope this helps!

Definitely get the set version. The angle chuck is THE differentiator that has saved my bacon many times.

I like that...... differentiator .....good word. thanks

Get the full set. It's a very handy little drill, I use mine mainly for kitchen installs or anything needing delicacy. The rest of the time I have a few bigger Makita drills. I bought the extra long centrotec bit holder this week , handy for reaching into the backs of units to fix them

Well, I used my CXS yesterday as a secondary drill for screwing a 30m2 of 28mm deck in place with 5x75mm screws into 2x4's and the little champ did about everything that my PDC did albeit a bit slower of course and ran out of juice about 3x more often (which is quite in line with its 1.5Ah battery vs. the 4.2Ah battery of the PDC). So even thou I prefer using a CXS for light and accurate screwing it can be used in low gear for quite a bit harsher stuff as well. The second battery of the set came in handy as the recharger could just keep up with the consumption and I could just swap batteries every time I ran out of juice.

I second the notion on getting the set instead of the stand-alone machine. The set plus some Centrotec-drill bits and a systainer filled with screws, plugs, dry-wall anchors goes a loooong way for everyday-house-fixing. Covers about 50% of my needs.

Love Love Love the CXS. But get the 'Set'.

The battery life isn't amazing and with only 1 battery you would quickly regret your decision if you didn't get the set.

I have the cxs set and the 98 piece centrotec kit, they work very well together, only thing I wanted to do that I wasn't able two with only those two festool items, was drill into some aluminum extrusions, but festool does make spiral bits for that, that u can buy apart.

+1 on the set and centrotec kit

Go the Set route.
I did.
Eventually, the magnet that hods the bits into the drill dropped out.  It was still attached to the drill bit.
I could not get it back into the drill housing correctly and leave it in place but was told a drop of superglue would hold it in place.  I put the little magnet right where I would be sure to find it when i could pick up some S-glue.  A month or so later, I brought home the glue.  That was a few months ago.  By the time i find that magnet, the glue will have died in the container. [unsure]
I still have the two chucks that came with the CSX and no time lost.  Someday, I will find where I put that little magnet.  ::)

I have not had this problem, how long have you had your CXS before this happened to the bit holder?

Gee, you'd think I could help answer this question since I've bought 4 csx. Unfortunately they've all been gifts to other people. Maybe someday I'll buy one for myself.
I know, useless post put I couldn't help it.  [doh]

Well, go ahead and put me on your list for buying CXS as gifts.  I'll gladly accept the plus or set, I'm not picky.  I will even pay shipping!!!  :)

I think it had been about a year.

I have the CXS and the t18 and reach for the CXS more often. It handles most daily tasks with ease. I Would highly recommend.
