I think one improvement to the CT dust extractors would be to have the power tool outlet plug have power available when the selector switch is in the "Manual" position.

Another improvement would be to have power cord clips on the the hose to keep them together.  Particularly close to the tool.

And there should be a plug retention mechanism on the CT.  Perhaps optional, but it should exist.
 
Get rid of the stupid 20A adapter and offer 2 cords.  I hate the pig tail on the cord only gives another plug to pull apart.  Also I aggree 100% on poer tot he outlet when the vac is on manual.
 
I'm glad the Festool vacs don't power the tool outlet when the vac is in Manual mode. The Fien vacs do power the out let all the time and this led to a huge mess in my shop when a helper flipped the switch on the Fein vac the wrong way and merrily proceeded to sand a large surface with no vacuum.
 
A better outlet would be two, one automatic when tool is started and the other power all the time.
