One of our CTL extractors kept cutting off with the heat we are having and continuous use. Each time it cut off we left it a couple of minutes and the. Turned it back on again and carried on. On Friday it turned off and now won’t come back to life at all. Anyone got any suggestions as to what it may be before I send it in to a shop for repair? I am hoping it’s just a thermal cut out that can be replaced easily?

I would call FT service and ask them. They are good about telling you whether it needs to comein for repair or not or if its simple fix how to repair it yourself. I dont know where you live, but if you call your Festool dealer, Like I would call Don at Anderson ply for help they might be able to help you to. Your dealer can put you in contact with the festool rep who might be able to come to your shop or you can arange a mtg and let him have a look at it to.

These are the things I do when I have a issue. 90% of the time one of these steps get me the answers I need wo having to send it to FT repair.

I'm just wondering whether unplugging the CT and replugging it would help. Sort of like a computer reboot (although obviously the vac is nowhere near as complex as a computer). Worth a shot.

My CT cord is snaked behind a bench so the CT is almost never unpowered but I would try that if I ran into your situation.
