CT front panel warmth when on "auto" mode

I just noticed that the front panel, to the left of the off/auto/on switch, is pretty warm when my CT Mini is left in the "Auto" position. Not totally unexpected, as the unit needs to be on standby to sense the controlling tool demand.

But in my case, I have been working on some fine detail and electronics in my workshop and haven't used my CT in a few weeks. I wonder how much energy it's been drawing?

I'll keep it switched "off" unless I'm using it. Others may want to take note.

You might want to have the vac looked at, or at a minimum call the service department and ask about this. When the vac is sitting in Auto without any load connected to it, there shouldn't be a lot of current flowing through any of the components of the Vac's control board to cause this heat.

My CT-36 has sat for months in Auto mode without any heat buildup. I just turned my CT-Mini to auto while typing this, and in the few minutes since then, it has not shown any signs of getting warm.

I just talked to Service. They are going to try it themselves. May be a Mini-only issue or not really an issue at all. My vac is working fine and this doesn't really surprise me, based on what I know about electronics. That said, I'm going to check in with them after they run their test and I'll report back.

In the meantime, FOGers, if you want to check yours and post results, as kind of a mini poll, that would be appreciated.

I checked my Midi and it was slightly warm in stanby possition.
Nothing alarming in my case, but strange newer the less.
