Hello,

My first post here, though, I'm a Festool user for more than 10 years now... First time I cannot get answer here, so, first post and with question... Are CT22 and CT26 handles with same with dimension and same tube diameter? If not, what are these dimensions, if measured between tubes?

Please see more in picture attached.

I would call festool service to ask them if the handles fit both CT's.

But shooting from the hip I would say yes maybe ow they mount to the CT might be different (different hardware etc) but dimensionally I dont see a problem.

Can't commend on differences between handles for the CT 22/26.
But I have one for the CT 22.
Dimensions between tubes is 305 mm and diameter is Ø28 mm.

In my country Festool sellers definitely won't be able to answer to this question...  [sad]

From pictures looks that CT26 handle is taller than CT22's. But that does not matter for my intentions.
OK, what I'm wanting to do...?  [smile] I just bought CT26 and I want to sort out power cable storing issue when using handle (which is ordered and on the way to me) on CT26. I've seen various solutions here, but none I liked. I saw that CT22 had proper solution for cable storage with handle, so, I thought- if both handle's- CT26 and CT22, are with same with and with same tube diameter, I can just buy as spare's needed parts from CT22 handle and use them on CT26's handle as well.

Thank you, neeleman, now I just need to wait for CT26 handle arrival.  [smile]

My understanding is that the handle is the same, but the brackets differ. But, as I only have the older CT22, I may be wrong.

About ten years ago, I wished to purchase a second set of cord clips to mount onto my CT22's handle so I could have two sets of clips. At that time they didn't offer the parts separately and I had to order a second handle to get the clips.

You may be better off making you own cord clips to fit as the Festool cord clips are a little on the small size for the cord. These days I simply wrap the cord around the posts for the Boom Arm's stabilizers.

OK, let's then measure also height of original CT22's handle (tube only, without attachment), I will measure then CT26's one when I get it.

Yes, I found that discussion about CT handle, some user named "Samurai Dave" also wrote there:

"
An alternative to purchasing a whole CT Handle kit is to purchase the 454736 "Tube support (CT-HANDLE)" from Festool USA for $19.60 + $10 shipping.  It contains everything that comes with the CT Handle kit, but the metal tube handle; all the plastic parts including the bolts and nuts to mount it.  I had to order it directly from Festool USA since my dealer couldn't find the part number.  Festool USA confirmed it could not be "seen" by dealers, and they have asked Germany to add it to the list of dealer-available items.

You will also need one of the 452837 "Cable Hook" kits, for $7.10.  It comes with a pair of the cable hooks, so don't order 2 kits like I did..."

I see that these two part numbers are still available here in Europe in some online shops.

Well, original CT26's wrap (in attached picture) seems to be about same size if not even smaller than CT22's wrap. For my needs it is ok, anyway my CT 99% of time will be stationery used and cable wrap will hold not all amount of cable.

And, honestly, I'm getting somewhat "tired" and lazy with age, so, when it's possible to assemble something from ready available parts, I do so.  [big grin]

Hard to measure accurately with it installed, but I'm measuring something like 735mm tall. And I do suspect that these tubes are the same for both. I measure 304 between tubes, giving 332mm center-to-center with 28mm diameter tubes, but again, hard to get a perfect measurement, so neeleman's measurement of 305mm may be correct.

Totally understand wanting to purchase parts rather than making your own. Hey, it will all look as if it came that way from the factory as opposed to something you have added on. Anyway, I'm sure you will make it all work using the CT22 parts. Mounting the cord clips higher up on the handle makes it much easier to wrap the cord, and is so much nicer on an older back.  [smile]

Today "man in brown" came...

...and, as I suspected from pictures seen around, CT26/36 handle is just taller than CT33's handle! So, height is about 790mm, between tubes- 304 (you where precise) and tube diameter is 28mm! Perfect!
Thank you for your help!

Now just last step left- get spares.  [smile]

No, no, I'm not so old!  [unsure]

Today got CT22 handle parts with cable wraps. CT22 handle brace/wrap/accessory holder fits ok on CT26 handle, just a bit loose. To remedy this, I used transparent tape in place where brace will be placed, after carefully pushed over and bolts tightened.

I also used black bottom part from CT22, just cut holes through and side towards vac case was cut off as not needed here. But these are details, if more interest, I have, probably, to open some other topic how I assembled my CT26 setup... This was just quick FYI about results if anybody wants to try this as well.
