Hello, I recently obtained a Festool CT MIDI 1 vacuum that has a problem. When plugged in, the light comes on indicating it has power. However, the vacuum will not power up or have any sign of life on automatic or manual even though the lights indicate it is being used as normal. I am wondering if anyone has had this same issue and/or knows what the problem might be. I have resorted to this website because there is apparently nobody to call at Festool that knows anything about problems. I have not broken into it to check anything as of now. Thank you for looking.

Have you actually called Festool Customer Service? And they told you that there was no one there who could help you with your problem???

Yes, I called customer service and they said none of their technicians have phones and can't help. I asked if there was anyone I could talk to and try to get some ideas and they said no.

This doesn't surprise me, Festool's in the business of fixing tools for a fee and not fixing tools for free.

Try calling the local Chevrolet dealer and ask to talk to one of their mechanics...good luck.

Festool does have a Dedicated Service Line. Try that.

"Contact Festool directly to get all your questions answered quickly. Whether it’s advice, support or repairs you’re looking for – we’re always happy to hear from you. 888-337-8600"

Lol, that makes sense. That is the number I tried and I was very surprised when I came on here and seen that quote.

How did you obtain the CT?  New or used?

If new, it's still under warranty, just open a claim.

Is this the MIDI 1 or the MIDI I?

I got it used for free, CT MIDI I

When the electronics are on, but the motor doesn't start, always check the brushes first.  They're spring loaded and will cutoff before rubbing all the way down. You can search "festool ct brush replacement" on youtube to get an idea of what's involved and to be careful with the black retaining ring.
