CT MIDI MAN and + - ADJ not working

I bought this new a few weeks back and just now had a chance to try it out tonight for the 1st time. Unfortunately the touch points, specifically the  MAN, -, and  + on the front panel  don’t seem as responsive as they should be. They work maybe 1 out of 20 touches. I’ve tried varying the pressure  but it seems as though I got a bad unit perhaps.

The Bluetooth remote I bought works flawlessly to start the unit, but I think I need to return the midi to toolnut  or call festool for a replacement on Monday.

Since I have all weekend to wait, I thought I’d post and see if anyone else has had this problem in case there’s a trick to get this working that I’m missing.

I once got mine into a state where it was only listening to one of the bluetooth buttons or batteries, cant remember which. I think I had interrupted it 'mid-cycle' somehow. A power off and on solved it.

Seems though you do have a duff unit  [crying]

Played around with it some more today while out in the shop and it seemed a bit more responsive but nowhere acceptable for as much as these things cost.

To bad the Bluetooth remote can’t control the speed as well as the on/off. I’d gladly keep it if it did.

Thanks for the feedback AK, I was afraid of that, but hoped this was a common problem that could be easily solved without a replacement.

Too bad about your unit. The panel seems very much out of spec.
I have the new Midi too, and it’s panel is responsive - in that way it need a light push, but I does not react with straying fingers.
Get it exchanged, you’ll probably love it, the portability, easy filter check, manual clean lever and the blower port, Bluetooth remote does makes it very versatile too.
