ct midi problem

My 6 month old ct midi kept cutting out today, think I have narrowed it down to a break in the cable where it comes out of the back of the extractor, if I wiggle it round a bit it works again. Thinking it will be an easy diy fix, just needs 6 inches cutting off the cable but before I start taking it apart wondered if anyone else has done this? Don't want to invalidate warranty but really busy and don't want to be without it for a week or two while festool fix it?

Doug,

I think the best course of action is to first call Festool Service, discuss the issue with them, and based on that discussion, you may be allowed(???) to do the repair yourself, or, they may ask you to send it in for repair.  It's under warranty, so if it's the difference between voiding the warranty or being without the CT for a ~week and having Festool repair, I would send it in.

Also, you don't need to send in the whole CT, just the top.
