CT MIDI works intermittently

I have a CT 22 E, that is over 4 years old.  It runs intermittently.  It will power a tool (drill, sander, track saw) in AUTO mode, but the dust extractor will not turn on.  It will run intermittently in Manual mode, after banging it up and down on the floor a few times. 
The filters are clear, very little in the bag.  I cannot find my manual, though an online manual I found contains no troubleshooting section.  I can't find any fuse or anything that might have blown.  The fact that I can get it to work intermittently suggest a loose wire inside or a faulty switch.  Any ideas or suggestions?

        Your best bet is to call Festool service. You will get a helpful tech person to talk to. They can walk you through trouble shooting etc.  Number below and on the vac label.
