I've been told you can't use these two products together (the vacuum and the sleeved hose (part no.: 201778)).  Any idea why?  Also, is there a may to make it work with parts or adapters?  Thanks!!

[welcome] to the Fog!

My thought is that the sleeved hose is 2 feet longer than the hose that comes with the CT SYS. That and then add in the extra bulk of the sleeve itself and the cord and it probably won’t fully coil up inside the vac.

I’d suggest you bring your vac to the local Festool store and ask for a trial fitting session to see what you can live with.  [big grin]

If it were as simple as swapping out a fitting like on the MIDI, I’d think Festool would say that.

The hose will work fine with the vac.  The issue is the right angle connector...you can buy a anti-static angle connector from
oneida-air.com...AXD600103  2.5" Right Angle SC Vacuum Hose Elbow Adapter
As Cheese mentioned, it will not stow in the vac.

Question is if a 10m hose with the CT SYS really makes sense - possibly using a shorter sleeved version and putting the CT on a SYS ROLL (to make up for the shorter reach of the hose by bringing the vac itself to the work location) could also do the trick (and be easier to transport, as a 10m one takes up quite some space).

So maybe the 500940 might be worth a look, depending on what you want to use it for.

I think you guys are right on point.  I bet it's not an issue of it not "working" ... Most likely not recommended due to a) the right angle connector issue / thereafter coiling and b) seating / coiling the extra material inside the top of the unit.

I decided to take a flyer on it and just buy it.  I'm doing the shorter one, and I already own the roll cart for it.  To me, the features of the sleeved hose outweigh the drawback of it not fitting snugly, coiled up.  And in truth, the fit in the "hose garage" was tight even with the OEM supplied hose.

Only modification I'll likely contemplate is another right-angle connector.

Thnx boys!

The right-angle connector from the hose that comes with the CT SYS might (as in: I have not tested it, but would in case I would have the problem) work on the sleeved 27mm hose.

Gregor, I was thinking the very same thing.  I know those end pieces disassemble, as I've taken some apart before.  And if that works, that would be the idea solution ... To simply use the right angle connector that comes with the CT SYS.

Looks like I may have some playing around to do!

That's exactly what has to be done on the MIDI to use the sleeved hose. Remove the right angle connector that came with the original hose and fit it to the new sleeved hose.
