Hi I have a unique problem that I could not find an answer to anywhere . Although I love the system lately it has been making a noise  is that is driving me crazy. Its like an intermittent flapping noise every couple of seconds.
The bag is only about 20 percent full. Nothing is in the hose and the bag is secure. When I open and remove the top SYS dock and the hose feeding into the bag the suction is strong at the outlet going into the bag and no rattle. As soon as I place the hose back into the hose outlet the rattling and flapping begin.  It sounds like it’s coming from the  exhaust area. Any ideas?

The flapping is the vac bypass valve opening. There is not enough air going through the bag. The bag may only be 20% full, but it is a small bag. Also the empty surface of the bag is more than likely covered with very fine dust, reducing the air flow that area also. You need to change the bag.

Agree with JD. Get the lifelong bag for it. You will be better off. If it gets dusty. I smack it a few times or even vac it out or wash and dry. Still love the portability.

Cheers. Bryan.

Yep, had this going on the other day. Swapped the bag and all was well. Made sense though. I was using it to vacuum up fine concrete so even though the bag wasn't full, the fabric was pretty clogged up.

20 % full and I already need to change the bag? Ugh. Thanks for the input guys. Still a great vacuum

"Full" is a variable. If the bag filter area is saturated, it's full just as much as when the volume has been filled. Depends a lot on what you've been doing. In fact, if you mostly suck up track saw or router debris, you'll likely have better luck emptying and reusing the bag than if you've been doing plaster and concrete and the filter area is saturated.
