Just had a chance to hook up the Turbo suction brush (450644) to the CT Sys when I was doing some house cleaning, and since I don't recall anyone mentioning having tried out this combination, thought I'd report the results.

Short answer: it works, though there is noticeably less power to the brush generated by the 106CFM of the CT Sys (which I had outfitted with the 36mm hose) vs. the 137 of the CT26-48.  As long as the pile of the carpet was thin, the brush removed all the visible particles, and did not appear to struggle.  The trouble came when I transitioned to a carpet with a thicker pile, and several times the brush slowed down considerably and even almost came to a stop if I went against the grain of the pile, so to speak.

So, if I'm feeling too lazy to fetch my CT26 out of the shop when I'm cleaning my own house, I would still use the CT-Sys with the turbo suction brush.  But if I were on a jobsite, I would probably only trust it with the CT26.

You'd probably see better results using a smaller diameter hose.  36 mm is kinda big to be running a turbo brush.

[member=727]antss[/member] I've tested it, and you actually generate more suction with the D36 hose than with the D27, as is the case on the other vacs.  You would think that forcing the air through a smaller tube would generate more suction, but there's a cut-off somewhere north of 27.  I'm sure there is someone on the FOG capable of mapping out the equation for the optimal hose diameter for generating the most suction given x amount of CFM -- but it ain't me.

More resistance, less volume in the smaller diameter hose.  If you had a closed vacuum system the diameter would not matter but this is an open system so volume and diameter matter.

This makes a lot of sense sice the brush is probably optimized to run with a 35-6mm hose to begin with.

My original thought was that the ct-sys wouldn't have enough guts to use the 36mm hose and run the brush head.

Fluid dynamics never was my strong suit.
