Has there been any reviews of the ct wings extra hands?  I am doing some crown soon and wonder how well this works

I did purchase the Extra Hand, and it does work.  Used hanging crown moulding.  Using it to hold the other end of the Fat Max tape measure, I had to make sure the blade stayed flat, if it went on edge, it would slip between the layers of the wings, no big deal.  It did hold the other end of a 5" crown, 16 foot lengths, but one time I let my end down a little too far and it did pry it off the wall. I used it on painted, plaster walls that were a little irregular, and it held well enough.  I am sure it would hole the other end of a long lever, and larger crown, but I wouldn't rely on it for much more.  Overall, it did make life easier for me, as I was working by myself.  Although $40 something seems like a lot for what it is, it certainly is cheaper than having a helper.  Glad I got it.

I had a similar issue with the tape sliding in between the "blades" on the wing. I just put a piece of electrical tape over them and the problem was solved.

I agree that until you use it, you don't realize how well it works. I used a 36mm Bosch hose and got some extra holding power due to the volume of air.

Cheers. Bryan.

Sounds like good justification for a little tool that could be very useful in any number of ways.

The Bench Dog Crown Support is another option.  I have one and I love it.  It's built for crown and adjustable for any spring angle.  You can use any kind of extendable painter's pole.  It's spring loaded so you won't damage walls or ceiling.  And you don't need a vacuum in the room.  And it definitely isn't going to come down.

I also have the little Fastcap hangers.  I like the Crown Support much better.

I wonder how the CT Wings work in a rough knockdown texture?

I do cover rough surfaces in the video.

The CT Wings will provide support but not quite as much as on a smoother surface.
