CT22 Boom Arm to CT26

Like the title says, I'm looking to get a CT26 (along with the RO 90) and need to understand the portability of the handle/boom arm assembly from the 22 to the 26. Is it just the new bracket at the bottom or am I in for a larger headache? If someone has done this and has the part numbers, I would greatly appreciate it.

Do I understand correctly? You have a CT 22 with a boom arm and you want to move the boom arm to a CT 26? If so, you need the support bracket (496 780)  and CT handle (495 802).

Thanks for the quick response. New handle too? I'm assuming the handles are different for the 22 vs. the 26 since they are different part numbers. 
Darn....... I was thinking about putting the 22 in the house, but I sure don't need a handle in the house.  :-\
Package price doesn't cover the difference. I guess I have to find another way to justify it.

If you do elect to purchase the new handle and bracket, I suggest you also purchase an additional tube holder (part no. 492786 - $20.83).  The tube holder is the gadget that connects the upright tube to the upper portion of the handle.  By purchasing this extra part you will be able to transfer your boom arm from your site CT26 to your home CT22 quickly and with ease -- well except for the outrigger portion, but you may choose to leave that at home anyway.  

So, does this give you the justification that you were looking for?   [smile]

Suggestion, just like the colors for the Festool Reps, people talking you into spending more money need a color & maybe a tag.

Actually Corwin, thanks for the idea. I always have a painful experience trying to break my current CT22 & Boom Arm down for transport. This might be the answer.

What is it about your Boom Arm that makes it a painful experience?  It should be a simple matter, unless you also need to remove the handle.  It should also be a quick process.

It's all to tall for the truck bed cover, so I break it all down. The new bed cover is segmented so maybe I can leave 1 segment open...hmmmm

I'm giving up on the mini-cyclone. Just too unstable. I'm hoping the new bags in the CT26 work better from a 'packing' standpoint.

Now, Uncle Bob just needs to get a tax-free option for us people in NJ.  [tongue]

Hmmm...  I understand the issue with removing the handle -- wish it was designed to install & remove quickly, as I too have a bedcover on my pickup.  I also have the ClearVue mini cyclone.  Mine is not unstable at all, as I have it mounted on the lid of a 5-gallon bucket that fits snuggly into a Systainer IV that latches to the top of the CT.  Here's an old picture of it the first day I got it:

The next day I gave it a little paint, cut a Festool AS Hose Connector in half and glued each half to the cyclone's two ports and added copper tape to complete the circuit across the cyclone.  Yeah, I did get a little carried away...

... but, hey, no bungie cords required.    [wink]
