This morning when hooking the rotex to the hose  end the end of the hose came off. I tried everything to reattach but to no avail. I can see that the hose end should thread on to the hose but it wouldn't. Any suggestions. Used duct tape to finish the day. Also, I would like to buy another hose for extra length and to use the clean up attachments. But, does Festool make a coupling to connect the one inch side of the hose to the larger end or do you have to buy a separate hose and connect directly to the vac?

If what happened to you is what happened to me, just thread the end back on "left handed." It's threaded backwards. This was told to me by Bob M. and it worked for me.

Mine came off too. That was last Nov. It was only about 10above. I was framing in my shop(house for now). The end came off and either got blown off or swept off the edge.  Fortunately my local (150 miles away) Festool dealer had one. I just found my first one about a week ago after the snow all melted. It still comes off every once in while. Like last week after installing some kitchen cabs and loading my tools , I look down and there that pig is, just waiting to get lost like first one. The good news is if I loose it I already have a back up.
I am thinking about a little silicone in the end. That might not let it swivel though. Any thoughts??

fsg,
This happened to me once as well.  I re-attached the hose by simply "screwing" the end back on.  After I fixed it, the hose never came apart again.

Happened to me too, and here's what Festool told me to do, which worked.

On the connector, toward the hose, there are two tiny tabs.  The tabs hold the connector assembly together.  Press gently on the tabs with a flat screwdriver and the assembly will come apart.  The middle part will screw easily onto the hose, once its out of the assembly.  Then, just press the hose with its newly screwed on connector back into the other part of the assembly, aligning the tabs with the holes they fit in.  The tabs will snap back in and you are good to go.

Thanks Jesse,
I had taken the little ring off before, but didn't notice that there was an inner piece. Now that I see howe it really works, it shouldn't come off again.  If it does, then a drop of silicone will keep it in and still allow it to swivel. It is always nice when the simple things stay simple...

Remove the nozzel end of your second hose and replace it with 452 896, or 452 894, or 452 892 (depending on which size your second hose is - 50mm, 36mm or 27mm respectively).  Then add part 493 047 to connect the two lengths of hose together. Festool does not recommend using more than 23ft total length of hose due to sharply reduced suction when past that length.

You people are starting to freak me out a little bit!!!
The other day you are talking about the plug it cord and lo and behold the next day while sanding I realize I havent twisted any of my plugs enough ever.
Now today while sanding something feels funny-look down and my hose has came apart at the connection to my ct33-
After trying to screw it back together unsuccessfully I flashback to reading this last night and sure enough try screwing the hose into the black thingy backwards and work like a champ-
I certainly hope one of you start a discussion tonight about finding a pile of hundred dollar bills in a hidden compartment of a systainer or something of that nature! Because I'm sure tomorrow I'll be wealthy wealthy  wealthy1
Kinda weird but I love this site

Hey maxrpierce!
Shhh.  The wads of hundreds are a secret.  Why do you think there's such an active market for Festools?  In the ATF55, the bills were behind the picture of sawblades.  I haven't found them yet in the TS55 and I'm pretty sure they are missing altogether from the TS75.  The story I heard was that Festool felt guilty about their high prices and made up for it by stuffing a few c-notes in the boxes.  Kidding of course. :D :D

SEE! that figures-
I can't work tomorrow so I am sure those c-notes will disappear while I am chasing some stupid white ball around some beautifully manicured pasture!
But thanks for the heads up
