I just purchased a CT 36 and Boom arm set.  There is a metal hose clamp in the set that I can't figure out where it goes. The clamp looks the same as that goes on a car radiator hose at the radiator.  Can you advise? Also the drawing shows a special clamp to hold the female plug from the vacuum as the first clamp off the vac on the boom arm .  But I just see the "normal"  plastic hose clamp that looks like the rest of them.
Another question,  I had to unscrew the hose guides to fit the 36mm hose in them. .  I thought it would just go in with a push ( the antistatic one).    Can you confirm they have to be unscrewed?

If I remember correctly, I think the hose clamp was made available if you were going to install on one of the older models.  The bottom of the boom arm should fit down into one of the round recesses at the back of the CT36.

1, The metal hose clamp is placed on the lower end of the vertical tube near the floor. You tighten it in place up against the underside of the bottom bracket to prevent the possibility of the tube lifting up and coming out of the lower bracket. Some feel it an abundance of caution, but I have see evidence of its need. (I see another post was made while I fumbled around -- the older version may not be any different other than some upper (mid?) bracket that fits the newer handle, or something like that).

2, Not sure what you mean on this next question. Maybe it's been too long since I've looked? The hose brackets on the upper tube has cord holders on either side. These hold the plugit (or standard cord) going to the tool, with the male end hanging down from the lowest bracket. You plug the short cord from the vac into that. At least that's how my older model works (I think?  [wink]) Anyway, onward…

3, Yes, I had to loosen the brackets' screws too. I may still have a screw loose.  [unsure] Wish those screws were a tad longer so one could loosen without having to completely unscrew the bolt from the nut. Well, nuts.

That's about all I'm good for. Other than, "Welcome!" - I see this is your first post.  [big grin]

The vacuum done broke.  It shuts off after 2 seconds.  I have to take the whole thing apart,  go to storage locker for the box,  24 hours  old.....

The aluminum hose clamp is only used for installation on older model vacuums, such as the CT-22/33/44/55. It gets positioned just below the upper mast bracket to prevent the mast from lifting out of the bottom bracket.

While not correct, for a CT-36 installation, I choose to use the hose clamp to "gently" hold the female end of the extension cord to the mast.

There is no special clamp at the lower end of the boom/mast. It is actually the same as all of the other clamps. The instructions are actually written for European power cords, which are much larger than the ones we use in the US. So their power cord is large enough to use the clamp that normally holds the hose.

You also should not need to loosen the main clamps in order to insert the hose into them. Just squeeze the hose a little bit and push it into the clamp.
