Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to the FOG.  I love Festool and have the following:
-PS 300
-RO 125
-TS 55
-CSX
-CT 36
-RS 300

Apart from the RS 300, which I purchased off my father, I have bought all of these tools in the last 3 years.  I would say all tools get used on a regular basis, the TS 55 the least only getting used a few times a month.  They are all wonderful tools but I have had problems with my CT36 dust extractor.

The thing died on me so I sent it back under warranty, they replaced the "motherboard" and the unit seemed to work until we used it for a lengthy period of time.  Now out of nowhere it will shut down for half a second and start back up all on it's own. Usually starting back up before the motor gets a chance to wind down completely.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Josh

Is this situation when the unit is running on manual or auto?

I've had it happen on auto on all of my CT's if the cord is loose in the CT receptacle. A slight movement of the tool will shut the unit down, move the tool/cord/hose slightly and it will start back up.

First, [welcome] to the FOG!

In order to answer your questions better, please edit your profile to include a location - at least a country. The FOG is a truly international resource, and the answers to questions *WILL* be different depending on your location.

Sorry that your first post here is with a problem, but I'm confident it will get quickly sorted out. I have to ask though - have you called Festool to discuss the problem yet? Or did you just want to see if it was common or widespread before you approached them? Either way you'll get good answers quickly here.

Once you get this problem fixed, please be sure to post back with some of your projects. We love to see pictures!!!

It is optional to include a country or location in your profile.  It does certainly help to include such information in a post if you decide not to put it in a profile whereas it will not show up in every post like your profile will.

Hey lads,

Yeah happens on manual mode.  It hasn't bothered me lately but I have been thinking it might be good to get it fixed properly while its under warranty.

Yep I know, just wondering if anyone else has had it happen so I know what's going on before I send it in.
