Hello,

Newbie here.  I just purchased a CT36.  During initial start up I noticed the exhaust air is unusually warm.  Is this normal?

Thanks,

Leo

I haven't noticed my CT exhaust being any warmer than other vacuums, shop vac or otherwise. It is a lot warmer than the air it sucks in though. A good bit of friction happens going through the machine, especially the bag and Hepa filter.

I think all vacuums/extractors heat the air that passes through them, I believe the cts are fitted with a thermal cut out so I doubt you have anything to worry about.

First law of thermodynamics.  Energy must be conserved, and work is turned into heat.  Think of your CT as a 2 kW fan heater - the output air stream carries nearly all of the energy put into the vac via the power cord.  The rest is dissipated as noise, which turns into heat as well.
