Did anyone else notice that the CTC MIDI I HEPA Basic price has dropped from $762 to $549?

And the CT MIDI I 578512, that they revised last year, is now gone from FTUSA.

Could the CTC MIDI be approaching it's End of Run here in the USA?

Maybe they're going to replace the CT MIDI I with the new MIDI I AC that was just released in June? I like the MIDI a lot because they're so easy to move around...just grab and go. I have 2 MIDI's and a MINI and I'd still purchase the MIDI I AC if it was offered here.

Oooh, that would be nice. Tempting to get the AC and move the I into house duties. Regular house vacs are quite expensive!

Wouldn’t be surprised…short run time ,and big as a corded version….nada…ctc-sys way more useful
Bring back the corded ctc-sys !- w/variable speed
I don't regret selling mine...but I also kind of do. The thing that annoyed me about it was the lack of variable speed and the lack of using the bluetooth remote. If those were both solved it might be the perfect CT for most tasks.

Would that eliminate the annoying bypass flap that drastically reduces suction when it opens?
No.

Currently there are two airflows;
1): Hose > bag > filter > motor > exhaust (through sound muffler)
2): Inlet > motor cooling > exhaust

The 2nd flow sucks in air from the environment and then ejects it warmer, but unfiltered. If the air around the CT isn't clean, it sucks up dusty air and makes it go airborne even more. If you put a filter on the inlet, the guts of the CT stay clean and while the exhaust might still stir up dust that is already in the room, it won't come from the exhaust itself.

I would hope that they come out with a v2 ctc midi. the form factor is perfect. If it had a single brushless motor (unlike that milwaukee one with two seperate motors), with hybrid dual power that charged the batteries at the same time when plugged in (similar to some of Milwaukee's Rocket Lights) and autoclean it'd be perfect. Oh, and the worst part of the CTC midi was the fact that you couldn't change the battery if you have a systainer on top of it. Not sure if they fixed that yet but that drew me to return mine.

I have spoken with someone at Festool and this is the new Midi 578512 The CT hood design has been revised to accept all SysGen3 Systainers and no longer includes the classic Systainer locking clips.

I've been surprised at how much more often I'll grab the CTC-Sys. And I'd credit that more to the BT button than I would to the battery power.

I think that's actually a downgrade for the MIDI - for both aesthetic and functional reasons. On the aesthetic side, now your T-Loc has to be oriented in the lock position all the time. But on the functionality part - and granted this is because I've got both the CT-VA-20 and Systainers sitting atop the MIDI - the Classic cleats provide very secure attachment to the CT. Before I started using the cleats, I would try to use the hose garage by simply rotating the T-Loc, like we would with any Systainer, but the very shallow "cleat seats" (can't think of the proper term) would not hold the Systainer and it would pop off while still being attached to the T-Loc. Quite irritating.

With the CT-VA-20, I turn the bottom base around to lock into the cleats while keeping the upper half oriented to the same side as the MIDI T-Loc and it's all very neat and tidy looking - and I don't have any concern that the CT-VA-20 will disengage from the MIDI.

You mean L-sized Systainers? Oh I didn't think of that.

But still; it's just a cost saving. Also it means you can't have any Systainer classic in the stack, because they always have to be in the bottom of the stack. Now that the CT is no longer compatible..
