Just saw this on my Facebook page, the CTL SYS has been officially announced, and is now on the website.

Edit: Just to add a couple of things:

The part number for the UK model is 584202;

There is a long-life bag available, which is good given that it's such a small capacity. Part no for that is 500642;

The standard disposable bags are fairly cheap, the list price is £14.28 inc VAT, so the dealer price will probably be £10-£12, meaning the bags are only £2.00 - £2.40 each;

It definitely comes WITH all the accessories shown in the images; the 2x nozzles and the carrying strap;

List price is £300 inc. VAT, but I've already had a price from a dealer of £229.

Now that looks cool. Looks very useful addition to the fleet for quick little drilling jobs coupled with the drilling nozzle. That's on My list.

Look forward to seeing it in action, would be good on site for quick jobs.
A Lot easier than my 22e to carry around.

Yep totally agree. Will be very handy.

Very nice, Im glad they have at last caught up with dewalt and the others, and it is held together with T Locs, pretty cool design.
Im interested in how Quite it really is.
Roll on April.
Thanks Jonny for bringing this to our attention.

The website JRB linked to says:

• Extremely quiet thanks to the low sound pressure level of 67 dB - vey slightly louder than the Mini 2 63db.

That's pretty darned quiet!

And at a guesstimated price of around $350-$400 (based on conversion from £229) reasonably affordable.

It appears to be a Sys2 on the bottom for the actual extractor, and a Sys1 on top as a hose garage? And the hose is a 3m x 27mm AS hose - just 1/2 meter shorter than what ships with the mini and midi here in the US.

BUMMER that there's not a cordless version, though.

Just fill a Sys 5 with Li-Ion batteries, add an inverter and you have a cordless version. Might be a bit heavy, but think of the convenience.

Festool has been doing good lately with their new tools......nothing I have a need for.

Until this....  [drooling]

looks like its only 240v  :-[ doesn't look like a 110v version will be available

Makes sense really. 110v is associated with site work. This little vac/extractor is in my mind at best a small option for domestic clean up jobs/minor cutting/sanding jobs and at worse a bit of a novelty item. So doesn't really have a place on a site to warrant a 110v option.

NO IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!!

[wink]

OK, it might in the UK but what about us poor 120 Volt slobs here in the US? What about us?

Yeah but even on sites it's handy to have a small vac that stacks in better with the pile of systainers

Maybe festool thought it was so small it wasn't suitable for the "ain't no replacement for displacement" mentality of the US [big grin]

Does that hose in a systainer suggest a change in design for the garage in the larger Festool DEs?

Cool addition to the range and works as you would expect - way above the small apperance  [cool] I was demonstrating it today on a course with the T.S.55 and the extraction is excellent - also very quiet.
No 110v at the moment but never say never....
The vent at the back can opened and the hose inserted to reverse the airlow - same as the previous C.T series.

I think there should have been a cordless battery facility built in.

A few years ago I had a dewalt that worked off the dewalt battery and also mains powered. It's the one dewalt tool I really miss since going to Festool and Panasonic cordless. It was good for vacing the car out.

It was available in both 240 and 110v. I think they may still do a portable vac but I've never looked.

This Festool effort is ok but it must be 110v for me to buy one. 240 is no good to me.

Hope Festool take note of the importance of 110v tool option as recently there have been hardly any.
