CTL vs CTM on newer models?

Is the difference between the CTL and CTM still only the air flow monitoring system or do they now have different parts?

Still undecided with myself on which model to go for

As far as I know it's still only the flow meter and alarm. They share the same filters.

If you buy it for occupational use; check local rules and regulations; you might have to use an M-class extractor.

For home / hobby use > save the dough and buy an L class. Better to have an extra L class than a single M class that you don't use all the time. I have a CTL 22 that is 'stuck' under a Precisio CS 50 and a CTL 26 that moves as needed.

"L Class (low risk) dust extractors are designed for processes involving mica, china clay, gypsum as well as simple household dust and materials such as soil and lime. The L-class dust extractor is designed for general work. If you are routing/sanding MDF, manmade boards or all solid woods (oak, beech etc), you should use an M-class extractor."

I think L class is for general cleanup like cleaning the floor. I just went ahead and paid the little extra for the CTM. I know I will definitely route and sand hardwoods. Pay the extra now, or buy another extractor later.

It totally does not matter which material you suck up in L or M. The whole M class is such nonsense. It does not protect you better.

Unless you're mandated by law to use a M class extractor, then one will protect you from paying fines.

Other upside is that M ones will tell you when you have a problem with airflow, should you fail to notice otherwise.

I was today years old when i learned there are differences between the L's and the M's.... Also learned why I never heard of it, cuz i'm in the US.

That is why M stickers are sold on eBay but L stickers aren't in demand..
