[member=31814]duc996[/member]  That is some superb craftsmanship and outstanding design!  Thank you for sharing!

What's the substrate for the trim panel that has the birdseye maple inlay work?  Is the surrounding figured wood veneer?

Thanks, Mike A.

That is beautiful!!  A year ago I was searching for inspiration to build something similar for a family member, but I came up short on ideas and plans (and I'm creatively challenged) and never moved anywhere with it (since this family member still doesn't have a pool table - there is no timetable for me).  I love the details and the execution, my favorite is the choice of walnut for the top part and the inlay work you did.

Thank you Mike, the heavy figured walnut is solid stock and not veneer. The trim is curly maple and walnut sandwiches together.

Wow, that’s a well executed project.  You could probably make a couple more & easily sell them online.

duc996,

Will you go into more detail on your finish. How long after the oil did you apply the poly and how many coats of poly? Thanks.

Project looks superb.

Hi John, I applied a single coat of Watco danish oil and let dry for 48 hours and sprayed 5 coats of polycrylic satin finish with light sanding with 400 grit paper between coats. Hope that helps.
