Okay as promised a wip of this curved dj booth.

Here is how it should roughly look like.

So I need to make a former for the corner panels, they will finish at 1200mm high. Need to make a load of ribs out of scraps first.

Mark them out.

Screw them to a bottom board.

Then mark out the rib pattern and centre line.

Brad nail and glue the bendy ply to the ribs and I have the former.

Place two 8mm plys with a 3mm in betwix with the veneer on the front and back and press to the former.

Out of the vac bag.

I now got on with the case that will hold the decks and mixer.

I've missed a few steps here but its straight forward box making. There is a more detailed description on my Blog if you can be bothered.  So I need to attach the end and infils to this carcase.  These are attached with some ribs so the whole lot can be screwed together and add strength.

Close up on the join.

Marks Mark...

Best power tool on this job was my carvex, I seemed to be picking it up all the time.  Thanks for looking.

Mark's Mark is awesome!  I like it a lot.  Very cool.

Great work.  Nice and streamlined finish.

Immaculate as always.  Like Greg says, is it in someone's home ?  Who has a DJ booth in their living room !  Did you make the funky table in the background.

Who did you get the "marks" from ?  I emailed a company that advertises in the back of Furnature & Cabinetmaking magazine but they never got back to me !

Thanks guys.  Yes, in a front room/dinner/kitchen, its a large room and the booth kind of acts as a room divide.  The client is very into his music, and has dreamed of having this booth since he was a boy.  I didn't make the table Alan, but it is a very nice design but not very well made.  The makers marks are from here, I did a blog post about them, but read the commets about them first.

Haa Haa, yea that's them.  Nightmare, I didn't follow it up but if you are that pleased with them I might persevere with them.

Thanks.

Thanks.

I can't remember where (it was long ago) but I've seen a craftsman's logo done in a metal brand ... heated up with a small butane torch and lightly scorched into the surface of the timber.

Great work and great photo show! I am dreaming to make a bath sink cabinet like that but narrower at the bottom ; to look more or less like a flower vase. But I don't know how to. Congratulations on a beautiful item.

Very nice work Mark!

I wouldn't have even known where to start on a project like that.  Very impressive.

Do you guys know of anyone who makes "maker marks" here in the states?

I have been doing some research for my own mark, and haven't found anyone with samples on the web as good as makers-marks.co.uk.
In addition to asking Makers Mark for a quote, I have made some inquiries at Indiana Metal Crafthttp://www.indianametalcraft.com/index-2.html, and embossed metal nameplates. I have also asked Horton Brass if they custom make the same type of marks as Makers marks.
I will let you know what I find out.
Tim
