Customer wants a custom built in seating area for her table. The area was cluttered with "stuff". This was my first custom cab job with the Kreg jig and Festool Domino 500  [big grin] I built the cab at home and had them assembled to drop in. I figured the walls were not square so I made them with a 1/4 inch shy on the back wall for adjusting on-site. Not only are they not square the are far from plumb  [mad] There are going to be sconces on each side of the window and today I will be drilling out the circles for the electric behind the Bead Board. Yep she wanted Bead Board. Hopefully I will have time to build the door frames, route them and install Bead Board for the center panels. I just received my Blum hinges, 35mm bit and drilling template in the mail.

I have learned a few things with this project that will speed up and make the next one easier. With the Domino, the day it came on the UPS truck I opened it and tested on some scrap wood and it was perfect right out of the box. My only issue is trying to get the 5mm dominos centered in 12mm plywood cab to attach the face frame. Any pointers or is this not possible?

I might have a few more built-ins to do. If so I plan on getting the LR32 system w/55" rail and 1010of. Below is the link to pictures.

Great start!  You asked about centering the dominoes in the plywood.  That is not really a necessity - close may be good enough.  You certainly can achieve this by not using the presets on the left bottom side of the domino (looking from motor towards front).  Instead, pull that preset all the ways back towards you and use the scale on the right rear of the "head". A little trial and error can result in what you desire, but if you are desiring that the face frame and the plywood sides match up then make sure that you always reference off the outside edge.

Good luck and I can't wait to see the final results.

Thanks. I haven't figured out how to adjust the up and down enough to get it close to the center of 12mm ply. It seems all the way down should work but it leaves a sliver or removes the sliver and lets the domino protrude. Looks like the plate has room to go the little extra I need but for some reason won't. I pulled the black depth adjuster all the way back.

Consider getting the LR32 and OF1400 as it is more versatile and is just fine for the shelf pins. When you have a huge collection, you can always get the 1010 for smaller stuff. The King taught me this, but always try to use the Domino for alignment and the pocket holes for clamping. So usually the Dominoes on the top and bottom and pocket holes in between, good luck, Eric

It is and a lot of guys have both, but the extra beef of the OF1400 will come in handy on tons of other projects and with MANY accessories, Eric

Call up Ron and get a Domiplate, zero learning curve, more accurate. There will be pics of it in use at my party, Eric
