i have an LR-32 system but want to use the sled to guide a router to plunge drill 12mm holes on a 46mm centre. So after looking at the guide rail discovered you can buy the green antifriction stick on slideway lining separately.
So the plan is to carefully mark out the row of 13 holes i need on the anti friction material and hand punch them 1/4" then place this over the holes on the rail. this should not effect the ride height of the sled.
wonder if it will work...
slideway lining on order!
cheers

the jig worked very well adding a strip of antifriction material with 1/4" holes punched in

Very cool!

Seems like at least one way to temporarily convert a non-holey rail to a holey one or, like you did, add a custom spacing that doesn't match the 32mm system.

How fiddly was it?  That is, how easy was it to get a positive position with the LR32 paddle/pin in the shallower holes on the antifriction strip?

once the holes were punched i placed the strip without adhesive on the rail to see where the sled pin went as an LR32 rail has elliptical holes. once aligned and stuck down it work pretty much as well as the through holes. its an expensive solution as the antifriction material is expensive but i'm banking on using it for future projects like this one

thats pretty cool.  Can you link to the material?  is this single use only?  or can you remove and attach it as needed?

its fetool FS-GB-10m you get 10 meters and over in the uk its £34. not sure if it would tear where the holes are if you try and peel it off

Cool!
I can see maybe 2-3 hole spacing set for various settings. Maybe even on one rail.
Great mod [smile]

Now that's a clever idea...I like that alot. Thanks for sharing.  [thumbs up]
