Cutting aluminum part, feedback?

Print a full size pattern, glue it to the aluminum and cut it out by hand with a fret saw. Drill the holes then file to taste. Clock makers do it all the time. No sweat

Yes, that would be my approach too. Very cost effective and not that hard to do.

It would take me a few hours, so the $50 shipping is worth it if my time is worth more than 10 to 16 $/hour.

I like the fret saw idea and I am going to maybe try it if the CAD thing doesn't work out. But in the future I would like to have more made so the CAD file investment makes sense.

Yes definitely drill the holes first, I got the steps out of order there .
