Cutting aluminum part, feedback?

Yes, that would be my approach too. Very cost effective and not that hard to do.
 
It would take me a few hours, so the $50 shipping is worth it if my time is worth more than 10 to 16 $/hour.
 
I like the fret saw idea and I am going to maybe try it if the CAD thing doesn't work out. But in the future I would like to have more made so the CAD file investment makes sense.
