Cutting Crown molding on vaulted ceiling

Hi,
I have a project where I'm installing crown on a vaulted ceiling with both inside and outside corners. I've seen post by Gary Katz on using a transition piece for inside vaulted up, but not for outside vaulted up or is one case down. Any help appreciated.

He did one about a year ago on vaulted ceiling to wall crown.
I’ll try to find it.

Came out a year ago.

Thanks for your input on the op's question I was scratching my head how to best describe how to do it other than "scribe internals & miter externals"  [big grin] the videos are pretty comprehensive.  [thumbs up]

Hi Rob,
Yes, and I ok with the inside corners using a transition piece, but outside not so good. I prefer not to use a compound cut on the flat. I feel it introduces a lot of variables. If there is no other way I'll do it.

Hi,
Ron P twists the crown to fit which throws off the slope angle. On long pieces I can see it working, but short pieces it didn't work so well. Looks like a compound cut for outside angles and transition piece for inside on sloping ceilings.
