Thought I would post up some pics of my cutting table. It is all assembled with half laps so it breaks down real quick.

EDIT> added spaces  to seperate pictures.

That looks great!  I see some kerf marks, so I'm assuming you've used it...how do you like it?

Can you post pics of it broken-down? Is it meant to be moved from job to job?  Regardless, it looks great. I'm looking to build portable job site table and can't decide on design. Are you happy with its stability? Sorry all the questions, david

Really clean design. Do you mind sharing some of the dimensions: height, width, length?

Thanks guys! I did steal the basic design from another one I saw and then made quite a few enhancements. It is meant to break down and move from shop to the job site. I can take a picture the next time I break it down.

I used two sheets of 3/4" luan plywood. It's assembled width is 4' x 8'.  I made a quick jig to route the half laps all the same. This way all the pieces are interchangeable. I made the height match my portable table saw on its stand, so it can double as an out-feed table.

It can hold a ton of weight and it is fairly stable. The half laps are snug but not tight. This does allow for a little "sway" lengthwise, but nothing major.

Yep. Used a 3/8" bit to route the groove and then a quick cleanup with the trion. Hit everything with a quick 1/8" roundover and a sander.

Nice job on that table .  Do you have pics of the jig you made ?  What's the width of the braces ?  Thanks

Here's the jig. Quick and dirty, but it worked well. I had 5-10 minutes in building it and used scrap from the shop.

This is great! I have been trying to come up with an idea for a cutting table for 2 days and none of them suited me and a couple others I saw on this site I did not really like. This one is perfect for me.  I might get a friend with a CNC machine to cut one out for me because it does those joints with no slop at all and I don't want to dissemble mine. Thanks.

Thanks a lot! If you don't want to break it down, then just use some pocket screws to hold it all tight. I will also put a sheet of Dow down first and then put on my sheet goods to get premium dust collection and prevent scratching if it's pre-finished goods.

By Dow you mean the foamboard? How does that hold up to the saw kerfs. The ply I am cutting is $70 a sheet so scratching it is an issue. Up to now I have been sawing on 2 x 4's across horses and I always have to re-position them according to what cut I am making and with your table it looks like any cut on a 4 x 8 sheet would not pinch the blade or fall in the floor.

Exactly why I built it. No pinch points and no moving the sheet around. The Dow is the pink or blue or green Styrofoam.  The white stuff isn't a good idea (it low density). If your blade is set correct, one sheet last a while.

Do I see the the granite top Ridged table saw in the background?  Mine was recalled and since I was too far to have a technician come to me I had them come pick it up.  I really liked that saw.

Wow! That was fast! Glad you like it. Its crazy how much weight it can hold.

I thought yhere would be some wobble to it but its rock solid. I did wax the sides and that hepls taking it apart.

Your opinion ...would this table be good for portable jobsite table? Looks like when disassembled it could be fairly compact? Do you think daily set up & break down would create slop in joints?
