CXS-18 is fingerpinching good.

Hey folks. I know, slim chances, but I wanted to check if anyone else has received a new CXS-18 and had the same issue as me:

When I hold it in my favorite „CXS-grip“ framed between thumb and index finger, middle finger on the trigger, I get the worst skin-pinch ever from the strangely designed trigger/housing junction.

Just me? Can anyone else check if they have similar issues?
Is the trigger on the TXS-18 the same?

Hmm that does seem like a design oversight I must admit. I have a similar problem with sortimo lbox latches where every so often I'll use palm of my hand to close them and grap a big pinch of my palm. Every time I want to pick the box up and throw it in the nearest bin!

Overall, what do you think of the drill?

I loved the smaller form factor and weight compared to the C18, which it was intended to replace.

It was still too heavy/large feeling when compared to the old CXS12V.
The grip and handling was very nice, besides the finger pinching.

But due to that it is currently on its way back, being exchanged for a TXS18. I‘ll see how I like that one.

If they make an update to the trigger switch or it’s integration down the line, I will surely get me a CXS18 again, but not like this.

I hope that helps. :)

I am having the same issue. I am giving it a bit more time before I decide on what to do. I wonder if the new 12v cxs is any better than the 18v in regards to pinching.

Not that it excuses the dumb design flaw, but why not just sand/chisel the sharp edge off the black lip?  If you radius that corner a little, it probably won't be able to grab skin.

I’ve had the CXS 12 for a few months. Not experienced the pitching at all.

I did have a C18 for a while (made in czech version) that would pinch me pretty regularly. I would have sanded the area in question, as suggested above, but i knew i was going to sell the drill as i never really got on with it.
