Yesterday I got out the CXS for a quick drilling job and couldn't remove the Centrotec bit holder from the shaft. It just didn't want to let go of the shaft. I shot it full of WD40 and let it sit for a while, thinking that one of the detent balls might have gotten stuck. No such luck. Eventually I managed to pry it off with considerable effort. I took the bit holder and slipped it on and off both the C12 and the TI15 with no difficulty which said the problem was with the CXS shaft. I could not see any specific issue with the shaft, and the Centrotec bit holders from the C12 and TI15 didn't want to slide onto the CXS easily. I took a strip of plumber's emery cloth and wrapped it around the shaft, then turned the drill on until my fingers got too hot. Ta-DAAAA!!! The Centrotec bit holders now slip on and off very easily, as do the other accessories. Something to remember for the future...
