CXS vs. replacing 2 c12 batteries?

My original C12 batteries are beginning to bite the dust and I'm looking for a "reason" to just buy a new drill  Looks like two new batteries will run me about $110 plus tax and the new CXS set is running $275+tax. I've got a Hilti 14.v set (impact and hammer) for the burly stuff but it seem the new CXS can almost do most of what the c12 does. Plus, its got a light on the front along with all its other goodness.

Worth the upgrade?

Do you also have another drill currently with your C12? i have a Bosch 14.4 along with a CXS, it's a nice combination of a light drill driver which is very maneuverable, with a more heavy drill with a bit more guts for drilling with spade bits and such.
If you do have another bigger drill, then i would suggest you try to sell the C12, and who knows for the price of the new batteries you can then get the CXS.
The CXS as a sole drill may not be the best option, it does 80% of my work flawlessly, but really can't handle the remaining 20%

If it were me I'd probably go with the CXS then buy one battery for the C12 at a future point.  Then you would have a festool as a backup.

I would never rely on a 10.8v drill as my main drill. 12v would be the absolute minimum but I'd rather have a 14.4v. I would only buy a CXS as a second drill.

I think the CXS would be a second drill - Mark says above he already has a 14v Hilti set... I have the CXS and a T15 - it's a nice combination and I'm sure the Hilti will complement the CXS just as well; the light and the belt clip on the CXS are the real winners for me.

Those are for the Li ones... $55 each for the old NiCad ones. Wish the old c12 could take the new Li but they aren't retroactive. Have to admit that having a light on the tool is totally a Pri-1 feature and the way Bosch http://www.boschtools.com/Products/Tools/Pages/BoschProductDetail.aspx?pid=PS41-2A mounts their LEDs around the chuck is a nice feature.

What I would love, and would be a great patent is to have projectable hairlines so that I know when I'm 90º from the work surface. Yeah, its called a drill press, but imagine being able to drill perfect 90º holes without some crappy jig?

I think these are 2 separate issues.

The CXS is nice, but it's not a C12. No eccentric chuck, no depth stop chuck, not as powerful.

Buying new batteries has gotten old, for me. It's typically twice the cost of simply having them rebuilt.
