Dado jig for the OF-1010 needed

I need to make some repetitive dados in 1/2” walnut. The last time I used the Festool guide rail and push block , I did not have the best results. The guide rail push block had a little play in it, and I could not use the plastic feet, so the whole router canted a little

What is the best method to make dados , both crosscut and along the grain with an OF-1010?

The FS-OF 1000 can be adjusted to be slop free on the rail, there should be some screws that you should be able to locate when looking at the underside of it.

Why couldn't you use the plastic foot?

Optimal gear also depends on size of workpiece, a MFS could do the trick for smaller pieces while on a rail will work for long ones.

Do you have a parallel edge where the edge guide could be used?  If so, you could buy 8mm (I think) diameter rods in whatever length you need and attach an aux fence to the factory edge guide to give you extra stability.

Or you could just use the back edge of the rail and run the flat part of the router base along that edge.

RKA, Maybe I'll just try and run the flat side of the base along a straight edge and see if that works. Its easier with a router that has a full round base, since it always has the same radius to the cutter, but if you cant the flat edge a little off, the radius will change

Maybe tyhe best method is to make a jig carriage that a pattern cutter with bearing can cut off of.

[member=62093]Intex[/member] you could also try using the guide block and put the router on the opposite side of the rail, not the tapered part with the splinter guard. That way the whole router base can rest on the work piece.
